LISTEN NOW! Life like Monopoly
The federal government is now borrowing .46 cents of every dollar it spends and has a national debt of 16 trillion dollars. Greg, John, and Pat liken what is happening today with the economy and how it intersects with our lives to the board game Monopoly. At the end of the game one person dominates and the one who controls all the property and money wins and is able to control others. However, this is not a game. This is for real when a communist country like China owns a great deal of American debt. This is insane; we can’t mortgage our future. This all ends with “one man” owning everything and everyone else in servitude.
U.S. Citizenship Test and Game: 36-40
Greg, Pat and John revisit the citizenship test given to people who want to become citizens of the United States. They have fun with a serious topic and take turns answering questions given on the test, with Greg asking the questions as the host, with Jeopardy music and all. They answer questions like: If the President and Vice President were no longer able to serve who would become President? Who is the Commander and Chief of the United States? Who signs the bills? Who vetoes the bills? What does the President’s cabinet do? See how John and Pat did in round 7 of questions? Listen now below.
Reckless words pierce like a sword
In this moment of wisdom found in Proverbs 12:18”, reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” Greg shares how many people today often speak recklessly without giving much concern to how their words affect others. Usually these are the same people who are harmed by the words spoken by others. Reckless words are damaging and pierce people bringing much harm. Then there are those who are careful with their words and are mindful of what Proverbs says; that life and death are in the tongue.
