LISTEN NOW! Rethinking Church: I am My Brother’s Keeper
In this rethinking church moment Greg shares about the Marines and some of their unique attributes. He shares that although the Marines are large in number they are made up of a few soldiers in a squadron. They live together, sleep together, eat together and fight together. Such a bond occurs among them that they are willing to put themselves in harm’s way to rescue a fellow soldier. They even have a motto, “no soldier left behind.” Greg shares that what the Marines accomplished by small squadrons we need to do as the church. People don’t walk into the spiritual line of fire for someone they don’t know. They know each other because they love each other. Jesus himself modeled this by pouring his life into 12 disciples. The church’s motto should be, no brother no sister left behind.
Egypt going back to Dark Age says, Pastor Yossef
Greg, John, and Pat discuss developments in Egypt as Pastor Yossef shares on CBN. It is being reported that Christians in Egypt are terrified of the constitution passing in Egypt Saturday, December 15, 2012. They feel their rights as well as many other Egyptians will be taken away. Pastor Yossef describes it as Egypt going back to the dark ages. He continues to share that this is a result of President Obama’s support of the Muslim Brotherhood which has now embolden them to take such measures. Greg, John, and Pat continue to discuss how President Obama has remained completely silent on this issue yet has been vocal not only in recent developments in Syria but has also taken to Twitter to communicate with the American people directly. President Obama does not need to be a community organizer but instead needs to communicate with the congress, who is elected representatives of the people.
Living with the Awareness that God’s Eyes are on You
In this moment of wisdom found in Proverbs 14:2 “He whose walk is upright fears the Lord, but he whose ways are devious despises him.” When a man or women is aware of God, and that His eye is upon us and that He never leaves us, he or she has a desire to know and follows the ways of The Lord; this combination is known as the fear of The Lord. Many would ask why are you always seeking to do as The Lord directs you in His Word? The answer is that I am aware of Him, love Him and have a Fear of The Lord in my heart.
If you have been frustrated with someone who you’ve seen grow up in the ways of the Lord, who knows what is right and God’s expectations of them, yet who walk in ways that are against God , this proverb should help you understand what is going on. When you see someone who once walked with The Lord now speak in ways that are hateful towards God, His people, and His ways – today’s proverb helps you understand they respond this way because their ways are devious. It’s like although they know what is plainly right they go against what is right and accomplish their goals in ways that put themselves in direct disobedience to God.
