The Unity and Diversity Discussion Held on the Gulf Coast: The Conversation the Father wants His children to have Part 1
A powerful answer to prayer has come about to begin a conversation. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus commands His disciples, “…go and make disciples of all nations…”. The nations are made up of all people, not one particular demographic, or ethnicity, or race. We are called to tell everybody, of every ethnicity about Jesus. For someone to look at the gathering of the church, the nations should be seen and reflected. God created all the nations, including the diverse people that make up each of the nations. In addition, He calls each of us to love the people that are within those nations.
The history of the United States reveals the many missionaries that departed the soils of America to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Those realities have waned to the point that the nations have come to America. Just moments ago, Pastor Len Ballenger of Jubilee Christian International hosted a panel of pastors to begin a conversation about diversity in the church. The panel was comprised of Associate Pastor Earon James of Jubilee International, Pastor Josh Wallnofer of Klondike Baptist Church, Pastor Greg Burns of New Dimensions Christian Center, and Pastor Dan Livingston of Transformation Church. Who better to carry on the conversation than leaders in the church who have walked out their own journeys and experiences of diversity in the Church?
When we look at the book of Acts, we see a stark difference between the church in Jerusalem and the church in Antioch. Based on stark decisions, there were different outcomes between each. How does this apply to the church today? In Matthew 6: 9-10, Jesus said these words “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”It is important to note that when the church gathers, the Father’s Kingdom should be represented; not the world’s kingdom. Allow your hope to be stirred as you hear the heartfelt journeys and testimonies of these men, a visualization of what it looks like to have the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth, how God has confirmed the critical need for this conversation to take place with signs and wonders, and so much more. Also shared in this segment: persecution, crisis, Francis Chan, 19 Kids and Counting, John G. Lake, Heidi Baker, Reinhard Bonnke, Apostle Isaiah Kadiri, marriage, family, Jerusalem, Greeks, hippies, race, ethnicities, Pearl Harbor, and love. Greg, Pat, and John shared in this segment.
