LISTEN NOW! (Or WATCH FULL PROGRAM!) As the President continues his 5 Country Asian Tour, he now moves on to the Philippines. It was in Manila, Philippines that the President spoke during the US-ASEAN Summit. The President understands that the United States has been able to enjoy many long-standing relationships with the nations of this region. “For five decades, this organization has brought together a vital assembly of nations to build consensus on critical issues facing the region and the world.” It is this organization, as well as others, that has forged many deep relationships in this region. As the President describes, “You have created a forum for all nations with a stake in the Indo-Pacific to listen, learn, and develop solutions to common challenges through strategic dialogue.” For this reason, the United States eagerly looks forward to adding to the successes in the region. “The United States remains committed to ASEAN’s central role as a regional forum for total cooperation. This diplomatic partnership advances the security and prosperity of the American people and the people of all Indo-Pacific nations.”
It is so uplifting and encouraging to see the President covering the majority of the Pacific nations and representing the United States so that the wrongs of the past can be made right, for this generation, and all nations involved in these strategic relationships.
